Never Give Up on What You Love

never give up

Are you an aspiring artist or writer? No matter what you’d love to do in life, getting started is never easy!

never give up

“Art” by *SOLAR-CiTRUS was created in response to something that had been bothering the artist for a few years:

Every time I encounter someone who’s just started as an artist, they put themselves down because they’re intimidated by artists who are more experienced. Intimidation is something that every artist has (or will) encounter in their lives, and they need to pull through that fear in order to grow as an artist. Take that intimidation and be inspired about it. What makes it intimidating? What makes their work look so unique? That’s where your learning opportunistic moments will occur, you find those reasons and you create something new out of all that you’ve learned!

I believe that anyone, ANYONE, can become an artist. It takes dedication and determination, but I promise you that drawing is one of the most rewarding art forms I’ve ever experienced. You will always learn something new with it, therefore, the fun never stops!

This is an issue that has weighed down on me in the past when I pursued many creative endeavors. Since I was a child I’ve always loved to draw, but I knew early on I would never be the next van Gogh. Recently I’ve taken on a fun career in writing, but even if I went on the most epic alcohol-induced rant and wrote until my fingers began bleeding from viciously tapping the keyboard all night, I will likely never go down as another Ernest Hemingway, either. But instead of judging myself against the amazing work of others, I look at others’ work in awe and use it for inspiration. All we can do is be ourselves and try to bring something original and useful to the world with each of our efforts. Even if I’m not among the most creative and talented people out there, if I can draw or write something that makes people laugh or helps them learn something new, I’m always grateful for that opportunity. And I hope to continue learning and improving upon these disciplines for the rest of my life. If you persistently explore whatever it is you’re passionate about, I believe good things are bound to come from it.

What do you really want to do with your time? Find a way to do it, and don’t ever give up!
