Klout Experts

Today, Klout has released a preview of Klout Experts, a way for people to share their passions and expertise with the world. Klout is now expanding on its recent partnership with Microsoft’s Bing, bringing influencers’ input to the forefront of search results. The CEO of Klout, Joe Fernandez said about the new service:

To achieve our mission of helping everyone realize their influence, I believe it is our duty as a company to do more than just measure influence. Today I am proud to announce the preview release of Klout Experts.

With Klout Experts, our goal is to enable every person to share their passions and expertise with the world. Klout Experts will create a path to not only increasing your Klout Score, but also to helping others by sharing your insights and opinions.

Klout went on about the new offering:

Influence is created by the expertise we have, the way we share it and the impact it has on others. Today we are taking a big step by moving from just measuring that influence to actually helping every person maximize the impact they have on the world.

Klout has become the standard for finding the people who influence the opinions and actions of others—the people who know what they’re talking about. Klout Experts moves us closer to our vision of helping every person realize their influence. We’re excited to see how you share what you know with the world.

  1. Actually as an end user I think it is great. As a Klout person I wonder how people will artificially inflate their scores to take advantage of people.

  2. I was surprised to see that one of my accounts was invited to be an expert and answer questions, but my other, main, far more influential account is only on the waiting list.

  3. Fascinating concept! I can see both good and bad. It’s always good to have experts, however, giving personal advice to people can be dangerous and lead to legal problems. The topics would need to well defined and limited, in my opinion… as a first thought.

  4. Yes – I was selected a long time ago. I’m worried that it keeps asking me about Dogs and nothing else. If I take Dogs out of my list will it ask me other questions or will it stop asking me altogether – I just don’t know. It would be really great if it was asking me about more than Dogs!
