Animography: Check Out This Free Animated Typeface for Designers

franchise-animated-1

What happens when you let 110 animators do whatever they like to one typefaceFranchise Animated, a dynamic typography set by Animography, happens. The typeface was created by one type designer and a handful of contributing artists providing different animations. The project asked each artist to animate one glyph in Adobe After Effects using no more than four colors and 25 frames. Each animator is then given carte blanche to do as they please within their 25 frames. The end result combines a wide variety of artistic styles and graphic design techniques.

You can download the typeface for free here (it won’t cost you more than a tweet). And there’s a bonus for motion graphic design students hoping to learn about creating animations: the file contains all the necessary keyframes, expressions, and artwork to get you started!
