YouTube to Launch Offline Video Viewing for Mobile Devices

youtube offlineHave you ever dreamed about streaming a video offline? Today YouTube announced a new feature that will allow users to watch videos from their mobile devices with no internet connection! Users will be able to add videos to their mobile devices for a short period of offline viewing.

This feature will help YouTube stars gain even more views since fans will be able to watch videos no matter where they are, even on their morning commute. YouTube wrote on its Creators Blog,

We’re always exploring ways to bring more viewers to your content. As part of this effort, later this year we’ll launch a new feature on YouTube’s mobile apps that will help you reach fans – even when they’re not connected to the Internet.

This update is set to be released in November.

This new offering is an interesting and legal way to store videos on your devices for up to 48 hours according to allthingsd. Though many third-party apps allow users to download YouTube videos, this action is prohibited by YouTube.
