Tumblr now lets you create instant GIFs using your webcam! Whenever you go to post a photo, click the text “Take a photo,” then just hit the “GIF” button, do a little dance and smile! This feature is currently available on Chrome and Firefox v20+ for now.
I’m surprised this isn’t available for mobile devices to try and tap into the “selfie” market of Vine and Instagram short videos, but that is probably coming soon. Nonetheless this is a cool new feature providing users easy animation possibilities, sort of like offered in the new Google Plus Auto Awesome feature that also animates a series of several related photos.
