The deadline to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act is Monday, March 31. To encourage as many people to sign up as possible, President Obama has been reaching out to the American public, particularly younger generations, by appearing on popular programs and by developing a larger online presence. Earlier this month Obama appeared on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis to promote new signups, and last week the POTUS took to Quora to answer questions about the Act. But there’s one popular channel Obama left out: Saturday Night Live.
In last night’s opening act, the SNL cast acted out publicity stunts Obama could pull to boost signups on HealthCare.gov. The sure-to-go-viral acts included Instagramming a shot of him wearing Pharrell’s hat; posting a photo with pop icons Kim Kardashian, a cat dressed like Princess Elsa from Frozen and Batkid; and, most shockingly, making out with the notorious Justin Bieber.
