3 Mobile Devices With Insanely Large Display Screens

Once upon a time, cell phone creators fought to make the smallest devices possible. Today however, they are trying to make their devices with larger screens. The lines between tablets, cell phones, and televisions are blurring, and in some cases the screen size is just comical.

1. Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3

With a screen size of 6.3 inches, this smartphone is almost too big to be called a phone. However, it has all the capabilities of a phone, while being nearly the size of a tablet. The screen is HD and offers a bright, crisp look. The phone has a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, as well as two cameras. The rear camera offers 8MP, while the front camera is a 1.9MP.

The device operates on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, ensuring that users get the full Android experience. On top of this, the phone is available in two options, with either an 8GB or 16GB internal memory. The memory can be expanded to 64GB through the microSD slot.

2. Huawei Ascend

Another large screen phone is the Huawei Ascend. This phone has a 6.1-inch screen. Whether you’re connecting to the Internet through 3G or satellite Internet, this device allows you to make calls, browse the Internet, and have any number of apps. It boasts a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor. The rear camera is 8MP while the front camera is 1MP.

This device runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The internal memory is only 2GB, but it can be expanded up to 32GB. The standby for the Huawei Ascend is up to 216 hours, allowing you to keep the phone going for hours at a time. With the 4,050mAh battery, you can talk or play for longer than most phones allow.

3.  Samsung Galaxy Note 2

At 5.5 inches, the screen size on this device isn’t as big as some of the others. However, it’s still much larger than most phones. The Galaxy Note was created to be a cross between a tablet and a cell phone. With a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, this device runs quickly and smoothly. The operating system is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Again, this device offers two cameras, with an 8MP camera on back and a 1.9MP camera on the front.

While this tablet comes with 2GB RAM, it also has three options for user memory, including 16, 32, and 64GB options. On top of this, there is a microSD slot that offers expansion up to 64GB. This allows users some of the best memory options on the market. The battery on the Galaxy Note 2is a 3,100mAh Li-ion, which gives users hours of talk time, and days of standby.

With screens getting bigger, it’s no surprise that there are a number of smartphones that are moving into tablet territory. These phones allow greater freedom in usability, because of the larger screen. Many designers, developers, and others find the larger screens allow them to do more, and with the ability to make calls, they no longer have to carry around multiple devices.
