After snagging the title of MVP of the 2013 World Series, David Ortiz can mark down one more accomplishment: taking a selfie with the President of the United States. As winners of the most recent World Series and as admirable citizens during the Boston Marathon bombing and beyond, the Red Sox were invited to the White House to meet President Obama.
The Boston Red Sox have an extensive community outreach program involving volunteering, mentoring and more. After honoring the team, Ortiz presented Obama with a custom team jersey and snagged the opportunity to take a selfie with the president.
What an honor! Thanks for the #selfie, @BarackObama pic.twitter.com/y5Ww74sEID
