“Do or do not, there is no try.” This epigraph heading Disney Accelerator‘s landing page signals that Disney plays no games when it comes to entrepreneurial initiatives.

In an effort to spur transformations in the media and entertainment industry, Disney will be accepting 10 startups into its new mentorship-based accelerator program. Accompanied by $120,000 in investment capital, incubator space, access to resources at the Walt Disney Company and mentorship from the Techstars community, entertainment industry leaders, venture capitalists and Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger himself, the Disney Accelerator seems like an opportunity too good for entertainment startups.

“Disney Accelerator offers a unique collaboration between some of the best creative minds in the entertainment industry and the modern-day visionaries who are starting businesses on the strength of exciting new ideas,” writes Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Business Development and Technology Kevin Mayer.

The 13-week program will be based in the greater Los Angeles area and will culminate in an investor demo day in September.

Interesting in applying? Applications are open until April 16.
