The Taser Photoshoot: Portraits of People Willingly Being Shocked with a Taser [VIDEO]
Would you willingly get shocked with a taser gun for the sake of art? A group of brave everyday people decided to do just that for South Carolina photographer Patrick Hall. These folks participated as models in a series of photos that capture the moment someone is tased.
And who was doing the shocking? Friends and romantic partners of those getting zapped. In the series, entitled “Taser Photoshoot,” Hall captured the reactions of the person doing the tasing as well.
Explaining his ideas and motivation for the project, Hall said:
As a portrait photographer, a lot of times I get people in front of my camera and they give me all kinds of weird expressions because they’re aware that the camera’s in front of them. And I think as a good portrait photographer, you’re always trying to get something real, you’re trying to get something that really conveys the expression the person has deep down inside. And what’s interesting about this photo shoot is there is no way you can fake your emotions and your expressions when you get hit with 300,000 volts of electricity.
