Would You Believe That T-Pain Actually Sounds Good Without Auto-Tune? [VIDEO]

T-Pain, the singer-songwriter, rapper and record producer, is perhaps most famous for his use of auto-tune. But when T-Pain recently performed a private concert sans auto-tune for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert series, he proved to critics that he can in fact sing.

In an interview for NPR’s All Things Considered, T-Pain explains that people believe the singer-songwriter uses auto-tune to cover up his lack of musical skills. In reality, though, T-Pain uses the auto-tune as a tool:

People felt like I was using it to sound good. But I was just using it to sound different.
