Dehydrated Rose of Jericho Plants Burst to Life After Exposure to Water [TIMELAPSE]

A Rose of Jericho (Selaginella lepidophylla) is a type of desert plant that can survive months, even years, of extreme dehydration. Once the plant is exposed to water again, it revives itself, transforming from dried tumbleweed to green fern in a matter of hours. Videographer Sean Steininger rehydrated several Rose of Jericho plants to create this timelapse video of the tumbleweeds as they bring themselves back to life.
