The Two Fabulous Cities of NYC and Paris Compared in One Unique Split-Screen Timelapse [VIDEO]

What do Paris and New York City have in common? Creative artist, filmmaker and editor Franck Matellini explores the similarities and differences of the two cities in a unique split-screen timelapse. The split screen allows viewers to simultaneously compare two cities separated by 3600 miles of ocean and land.

On the video’s Vimeo page, Matellini writes:

Paris & NY, like many large cities, have a lot in common: transport, infrastructure, national monuments. I wanted to explore not only these comparisons but also the differences, in order to expose the beauty and individuality of each. What you cannot deny is the vibrancy and explosion of character each city has and I thought split-screen with timelapse would be a good way to help convey this.
