We are all conscious beings that stand out through our unique thoughts and actions. But as we grow up, society teaches us how we ought to act, dress and think. Classrooms are filled with students often reading identical texts and even wearing the exact same clothes. So how can we resist this pull towards conformity and avoid succumbing to a zombified state of mind? How can we realize and explore the full potential of our creativity and individualism?
Jack Kerouac may have put it best:
The only people for me are the mad ones – mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time. Those who never yawn or say a commonplace thing but burn, burn, burn like yellow Roman candles exploding like spiders across the sky.
Whatever it is that you want to do, no matter how bold, take an unwavering passion in it and see it through to the end.
