Brazil Was So Unhappy With Pitbull’s 2014 World Cup Anthem that They Remixed It
It wasn’t long ago that Pitbull and J. Lo released the official anthem of the 2014 World Cup. Now, note even two months after the fact, the song gets a catchy remix. With the original completely disregarding Brazil‘s music and culture, there was a push to create a new version of the song inspired by the sounds of Brazil. FIFA and Sony Music set to work remaking the song with Brazilian drum group Olodum beating out the rhythm for part of the song.
Along with the release of the remix came a music video featuring Olodum and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte late last week. Additional Brazilian characteristics in the video include footage from past World Cup tournaments, plenty of shots of Rio de Janeiro and Brazilian flags galore.
