‘Astronaut – a Journey to Space’: a Timelapse Odyssey Around Planet Earth in the International Space Station [VIDEO]

What is it like to be an astronaut orbiting planet Earth in the International Space Station?

French filmmaker Guillaume Juin created an astounding timelapse using footage taken from the ISS on expeditions from 2011 to 2014. The monumental timelapse, set to the song “Astronaut” by Vincent Tone, takes you on a wild and beautiful journey. What is it like to be an astronaut? For starters, you get to witness Earth’s amazing sights, like the sunrise and northern lights, from space. Juin’s timelapse provides just this perspective.

On the video’s Vimeo page, Juin writes:

What does astronaut see from up there? From the red soil of Africa, the blue water of oceans, to the green lights of the poles and yellow light of human activity, discover, through this journey to space, something astoundingly beautiful and strange at the same time.
