Waltz on the Walls of City Hall: Aerial Dancers Perform on Oakland’s City Hall Building [VIDEO]

Dancers Amelia Rudolph and Roel Seeber take vertical choreography to new heights as they perform this beautiful waltz on the side of Oakland’s City Hall building – 18 stories up! The performance, part of the Art + Soul Festival earlier this month, was filmed by a GoPro camera attached to Rudolph and another camera at the base of the building.

The two cameras provide unique perspectives on the aerial dance, one as a dancer, experiencing the waltz first-hand, and one as an observer, viewing the performance from below. There is the illusion of weightlessness to the vertical waltz, as the dancers appear to be moving in an environment with less gravity than on Earth. Combined with the music and despite its unusual setting, this waltz is surprisingly beautiful.
