It’s been days since Ellen DeGeneres graced the Oscars with her energetic, charming presence, but people are still talking about the epic Oscars selfie that dominated Twitter that night. To demonstrate just how impactful the picture of Bradley Cooper, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey and Meryl Streep was (and why it disabled Twitter for some time), I want to show you an interactive map made by the Twitter Data team.

The animated map uses white spots to represent every geo-tagged message tweeted about the Oscars every minute from March 2, 5 p.m. ET until 11 a.m. ET on March 3. The brighter an area gets on the map, the more geo-tagged Twitter activity that was happening in that area at that time.

Watch the map light up after DeGeneres tweets the Oscars selfie just after 22:00:

What did you think of this year’s Oscars?
