The online storytelling event is set to take place between March 12 and 16 and allows any aspiring writer to become a Featured Storyteller and join the ranks of award-winning authors from across a wide selection of genres.

What type of fiction writing should you consider? A few suggestions from Twitter include going beyond just tweeting out a script verbatim by exploring more creative and engaging social storytelling approaches like parody accounts, images and Vines, multiple characters communicating via Twitter and other narratives.

“Anyone can use #TwitterFiction in their Tweets to convey a fictional idea, narrative or visual art,” says Twitter. Entries will be judged by a panel from the Association of American Publishers and accepted until February 5.
