25 Photoshopped Images To Celebrate Adobe Photoshop’s 25th Anniversary

Adobe’s graphics editing program Photoshop turned 25 years old in February. The program, which allows the ordinary person to transform an image, has created a lot of magic. Twenty five is ancient in the technology world, yet Photoshop, by adding layering, text editing, and color options, has clearly succeeded in adapting to the fast pace of modern times.
In an interview with Tech news site Venture Beat interviewed, Adobe Photoshop’s longtime project manager Stephen Nielson said:
The tool has certainly evolved in the 25 years, but it’s very recognizable. Version one had a lot of very familiar tools that people still use today. We’ve had some pretty significant, game-changing things come after that.
Since its launch, Photoshop has completely changed photography and design. With effects like tilt-shift and color enhancement, your photographs can go from great to extraordinary. Design elements like virtual painting, hard and soft brushes, and retouching allow you to create magnificent scenes and designs.
Nielson talks about Photoshop’s effect on the world to Venture Beat:
Photoshop has had just an enormous impact on design, and photography as well. A lot of people like to point out that it’s called ‘Photoshop,’ but I’ve always thought of Photoshop as not being just about the photo. Photoshop has always been about design in my mind, whether that’s the design of a photo or a graphic design, web design, etc.
To celebrate this ground-breaking program, we’ve collected 25 magical images that were enhanced, edited or created using Photoshop, one image for each year that Adobe Photoshop has helped professionals and the public take artwork to a whole new level.
When discussing the future of Photoshop, Nielson explains:
The app is 25 years old, which in the tech industry is just unheard of… [But] I think we have an amazing set of opportunities in front of us.
