Looping GIFs Painted Frame by Frame Create Paintings in Perpetual Motion

How do you merge classic art with modern technology? One way is to create looping animations of painting like Nashville designer, artist, illustrator and animator Drew Tyndell.

To create his animation, Tyndell first uses Photoshop to paint each frame. He then brings those frames together in a looping GIF, creating a final painting which is forever in motion.

Tyndell was inspired to take up animation after seeing a Stan Brakhage piece at an exhibition at the Frist Museum in Nashville. You can see all of his own animation work in his Loops gallery on his website.
