Overflowing Landscape Embroidery Art Bursting from Its Frames
What if you could recreate the beauty of nature in your living room? Born in Perú, Ana Teresa Barboza weaves imaginative landscapes sculptures that appear to be natural fragments ripped from the scenes. Literally jumping out of the frame, Barboza’s creative Suspension series merges the worlds of tapestry and design. Each piece appears to be bursting out of its embroidery hoop, like a wave, onto the surrounding wall and gallery floor.
Barboza said about her unique wool and yarn fabrications:
I’m interested in the different concepts one can arrive at by using clothing and embroidery as an artistic medium.
