Neon Landscape Body Art Lit Up with Black Lights [PHOTOS]

Who knew the human body could be the canvas for such beautifully detailed artwork. Sacramento born and raised photographer and artist John Poppleton painted surreal neon landscape body art in his “Black Light Bodyscapes” series. Using fluorescent pigments and black lights, Poppleton makes nature scenes come to life in the dark. The paintings extend beyond the woman’s back, with some of the artwork using the face, arms and hair as part of the canvas. Poppleton uses his neon creations to showcase the beauty of the female body and combine it with the magnificence of nature to pay tribute to the concept of Mother Nature.

On his website, Poppleton explains how he got started on his black light artwork:

In 2010, while suffering from a sleepless night in a hotel room bed, John received his inspiration for using black light and he was off on what has become the biggest adventure of his career.
