Geometric Glass Installations Radiate Light and Color onto Surrounding Walls
Cambridge-based artist Chris Wood has two unique, favorite mediums: glass and light. She uses a wide range of glass to create experimental glass and light works for exhibition, from simple glasses filled with water to the more technical dichroic glass, or two-colored glass. Her latest work features vertical glass installations hung in geometric patterns to reflect color and light onto the wall or window it sits upon.
On her website, Wood explains her fascination with glass and light art:
Glass is a material which allows me to exploit the aesthetic potential of Light. Minimal structures, support simple arrangements of glass, which interact with light to create complex patterns of light and shade, which change depending upon the position of the viewer and the angle of the light source.
