11 Maps of Countries Made from Their Famous Foods

Ever been so inspired by a country’s food that you planned a meal or even a trip around it? What about your next big artistic endeavor? New Zealand artist Henry Hargreaves teamed up with New York stylist Caitlin Levin to create country and regional maps out of the best known foods of places around the world.
Hargreaves wanted to bring beauty and history together in the maps, showing how food has traveled the world in aesthetically (and palatally) pleasing creations. He says, “This project speaks to the universality of how food unites people, brings us together and starts conversation – just as we hope these beautiful maps will do too.”
Though each map is made up of one food, Hargreaves and Levin used different cuts and variations of that food type to differentiate states, provinces and landscapes. In the end a classic look is added to the maps with typography by graphic designer Sarit Melmed.
