Stunning Custom-Made Guitars Inspired By Old Classic Cars [PHOTOS]
The Classic Car Guitar series started when a client with a Surf Green 1957 Chevy Belair wanted a guitar to match his automobile. Next, Gartland came upon a 1959 Caddy Coupe Deville in rare condition, which inspired his second classic car guitar. He has since made hand-crafted guitars from a 1953-57 FJ Holden, 1957 Chevrolet Bass, 1960 Old Holden (the most popular of his Classic Car Guitars), 1960 Cadillac, 1970s Corvette Stingray, and a Batmobile inspired creation.
The guitars are all custom built special orders made from aluminum. It takes Gartland up to 165 hours to craft one of the instruments, between the welding, building and assembling, painting, and polishing that goes into its creation.
Although Gartland does not play guitar, he loves rock and roll and is paying quite the impressive tribute to it with his remarkable hand-crafted guitars.
