Carter Family Portraits: Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy as Renowned Artwork
We just can’t seem to get enough of the Carter family. From admiring Beyonce’s (blackout-inducing) Super Bowl performance to the way she handles a crazed fan yanking her offstage, to listening to Jay-Z’s “Holy Grail” on repeat, the Carters are the royal family of the U.S. if there ever was one. Considering this, it’s no wonder fan blogs are rampant.
In a blog reminiscent of, and perhaps inspired by, Jay-Z’s art gallery performance of “Picasso Baby,” the Carters make appearances as renowned artwork from around the world. Just as Jay-Z brings hip hop and pop culture icons into the normally more bourgeois setting of an art gallery in “Picasso Baby,” “The Carter Family Portrait Gallery” Tumblr brings revered pop culture icons Jay-Z, Beyonce, and their entourage into pieces of art that might have felt distant before.
“The Carter Family Portrait Gallery” is borderline sacrilege but 100% entertaining. Scroll through for some of the portraits, and visit the blog for more.
