24 Fragments of Old Ancient Roman and Greek-Inspired Architecture Carved Into Stone

When I was a kid I used to love reading mythology and looking at pictures of ancient Greek and Roman architecture. Looking over Matthew Simmonds sculptures of partially built column-style interiors reminds me of the old glory days of Rome. His half-empty pieces are carved into marble and stone, and the rugged stone finishing evokes a sense that these structures were truly excavated by archaeologists (like the end of some Indiana Jones movie).

Simmonds is a highly talented artist trained in classical marble ornament carving, who has garnered international recognition for his pristine sculptures and interior designs, as seen below.
