This Is What You Do on the Internet All Day

Do you find yourself spending a lot of time on the Internet? If you answered yes, you’re not alone.

Adults in the U.S. spend on average over three hours a day online. According to a new online survey by conducted by GFK and the Interactive Advertising Bureau, we spend an average of 37 minutes a day on social networks and 23 minutes on viewing online videos via sites like YouTube and Netflix. If this comes as a surprise, the report also found that the amount of time people watch videos has doubled in the last four years and may continue to rise. Reading blogs and listening to internet radio are on the rise, too.

What came as no surprise, though, was that email—the ultimate productivity killer—still eats up a significant amount of our time. As you can see below in the chart by Business Insider, we spend nearly 30 minutes each day dealing with our inboxes!
