If a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound? Similarly, what is a social media post if no one sees it?
Social media has become an excellent channel of communication between people, companies, and organizations. But creating a memorable and noteworthy message is only step one. Step two is timing, because sending out your message when nobody is online means it will go unseen.
Each and every social media site has a unique set of days and times that are best for posting. So how do you know when to post? To answer that question, digital advertising agency Fusion 360 created an infographic called “Tips to Time Your Social Media Posts,” which guides you on the optimal posting times for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Instagram.
The graphic shows that, for Facebook, the best time to post is 1-3 in the afternoon, and the best days are Thursday and Friday. Twitter’s optimal times are noon, 5 pm and 6 pm, and its optimal days are Saturday and Sunday. And because LinkedIn is a professional social network, it’s best to post on workdays during work hours.
Pinterest activity is highest between 8-11 pm and 2-4 am; Saturday sees the most traffic. Instagram, on the other hand, see a pretty constant stream of users all day and all week, though activity peaks slightly on Monday.
