I’m Gone: How to Quit in Fabulous Style

Our society has been a sucker for the big exit since the days of Jerry Maguire’s famous last words, “Who’s coming with me?”, to Peter Gibbons from Office Space deciding, “I’m just gonna stop going.”

It would take a lot of passion, flare, or lack of care to top these departures in real life. Marina Shifrin, however, may prove to be up to task with this hysterical “I Quit” dance fest set to Kanye West‘s “Gone.” Shirin worked for a Taiwanese company called Next Media Animation and described her experience and inspiration behind the video:

I work for an awesome company that makes news videos. I have put my entire life into this job, but my boss only cares about quantity, how fast we write, and how many views each video gets.

I believe it’s more important to focus on the quality of the content. When you learn to improve this, the views will come. Here is a little video I made explaining my feelings.”

Despite her tabletop dancing routine on company property, her prospects for finding new work look good given the virality of her video. That’s all that really mattered to her former employer anyway, right? What would you do if your boss held views to be more important than you? Would you tough it out to keep a steady job, or would you be “Gone” too?

As for Shirin herself, she’s looking for new work. “Wanna deal with me? Hit me up: www.marinavshifrin.com,” she posted.

Hmm, we could always use some hip new content and dance moves around here too!
