If you are a gadget addict itching to get your hands on Google Glass, you are in luck. For one day only, Google will be giving people who want a Google Glass the opportunity to purchase one for themselves.
Tuesday, April 15, the dreaded tax day, will now be known to Google Glass enthusiasts as the day they could potentially buy the gadget. Currently Google only sells the smart eyewear by invite to a select group of people known to Google as “Explorers.” The group consists of approximately 1,000 people wh serve as guinea pig product testers for Google. Starting at 9 a.m. on April 15, anyone can sign up to become a Glass Explorer. If a spot opens up, you could be the next person to own the device. But this is a one-day sale only, expiring on April 16, when becoming an Explorer will once again be by invite only.
Google hopes the promotion will build anticipation for the product’s eventual market release.
You can buy your own Google Glass for the full price of $1,500 starting Tuesday 9 a.m. on glass.google.com. Eligible customers must have a U.S. mailing address and be 18 years of age.
