iOS users will spend a lot less time waiting to open emails with Gmail’s latest app update. Google announced today that the Gmail app for iOS now supports background app refresh, which means emails will be pre-fetched, synced, and ready for reading whenever you are ready to read them.

The new feature is only available on iOS 7, and requires that users turn on background app refresh and notifications for the Gmail app.

Single Sign-In for All Google iOS Apps

Google iOS apps now support single sign-in (and sign-out). Just sign into Gmail, Maps, YouTube or any other Google app and you’ll automatically be signed into the others. Google warns that you might have to log in again after updating Gmail, but once you enter your account information you’ll be set.
