What if we could recreate the energy surrounding the NCAA March Madness tournament and put it toward something good, like donating to charities? Brackets For Good does just that by pitting nonprofits like the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership and the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic against each other in a battle for people’s donations. Every dollar you give goes to the charity of your choice, and the nonprofit that garners the most donations throughout the single-elimination tournament will win an additional $10,000.
In 2013 Brackets For Good raised about $85,000 for 16 charities, according to Co.Exist by Fast Company. This year, with 64 nonprofits competing, the competition expects to raise a total of $500,000.
