Apple to Host First US iTunes Music Festival at SXSW

Apple is looking to bring its popular iTunes music festival to the US for the first time with five nights of concerts planned for this year’s South By Southwest interactive media and music festival. The shows will feature big time bands like Imagine Dragons, Coldplay and Zedd.

The festival will be available for live streaming on the iTunes Store and via the iTunes Festival app on any iOS device, Mac or Apple TV. The iTunes festivals, which were previously hosted in London, have already attracted 400 performing artists in front of 430,000 fans in-person and tens of millions of online viewers, according to Apple Insider.

“The iTunes Festival in London has become an incredible way for Apple to share its love of music with our customers,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “We’re excited about the incredible lineup of artists performing and SXSW is the perfect place to debut the first iTunes Festival in the U.S.”

The concerts will take place at the ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas. Keep up with the event schedule and updates on the iTunes festival page.
