  1. I can’t really complain. YouTube is always bring the best for the users and as well as the channel owners. I am really impressed with the new trailer feature.

    1. It can also drive away the current viewers.. Least that could be done was give the OPTION of having the design rather then forcing it….

  2. This design takes away the youtube experience. With this layout change you take away all backgrounds and the ability to deviate yourself from others channels there is no creativity whatsoever. You guys are taking a shit on partners and taking away more and more partner benefits. Being a partner use to be something to strive for, now you are issuing banners for everyone and now allowing people to work for it. You are holding users hands and not letting them do their own work to grow their channel, gone is channel banners for partners what do partners have? Channel shows and live streaming wow that’s an amazing business strategy. You have no drive to become a partner, there is no point no point to even get involved in being a partner. Why is everybody stroking youtubes ego and allowing them to screw us users over even more with this horrible change, I’m all for a new change but this is a wannabe Google Plus rendition for youtubers. This change lacks personalization and individuality and creative potential this is the complete opposite of a good business presentation.

    1. Not sure how long you’ve been a member on YouTube, but through the years it’s gone to hell. I agree with your points. 2005-2007 was great for browsing content, favoriting, liking, etc. Then only a few years after Google bought out YouTube in 2007, these horrible interface changes came about. I can’t even explore the top videos of the week or day with ease anymore. Instead, I just get a bunch of promoted and “what people are watching” crap shoved in my feed and logged out homepage. Hell, for the first three months of the new 2012 layouts, they didn’t even have the top viewed videos of the day/month/week charts in order! Pitbull with 200+ millions views was on top for “most viewed today”. Total B.S. !

    2. You don’t understand how much I agree with you.. If I could, I would like craw through my screen and give you a high-five. Because this new channel design is a bunch of crap. I think the user should have a damn choice weather or not they want the damn design or not. My channel is being forced to be upgraded in about 9 days to the new piece of crap that the call a design.

  3. Yeah, not to be the pessimist here, but I barely see any critiques in these comments. Do any of you remember what happened last time Google made a new YouTube layout? Yeah horrible, and still is horrible. I can’t navigate to what used to be Browse > Most Viewed without typing in /charts after “youtube dot com” for the URL. Not only that, but the comment/inbox system is still glitchy beyond repair, and they said they’ve been promising to fix user profile problems for YEARS. Everybody needs to stop glorifying and caring about how YouTube looks but more as to how it will FUNCTION.

All people (majority) want to do is watch videos, not be sucked in by some specially designed “marketing interface” crafted to attract more subscribers (aka traffic for adsense dollars), so the opinions of the big-wig YouTube celebrities in this video could mean less. A good majority of them are majorly motivated to keep the ad money coming in, of course they think the new marketing-geared layouts look great!

  4. Some kid in grade 2 designed this channel. As mentioned all creativity is gone. Boring white background. What’s next…. huge half page ads on the white space? This design blows. Stick it up your ***.

  5. I honestly agree with Robert and the others. I absolutely HATE the new channel design. I miss the old ones. It forces me to change it, it’s been changing more then I can even keep up with. I can’t even get the chance to figure out a channel format before it changes again! They need to add the option to change it back!
