The United States of Booze: Mapping the Most Iconic Beer and Liquor Brands in the Nation

In the Pledge of Allegiance we state that here in the United States we are “One Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” But if there’s anything I’ve learned over the years, it’s that though the 50 states make up one nation, the people of each state have their own ways of doing business and going about day-to-day life. This could never be truer than when it comes to drinking.

To demonstrate state preferences for beer and liquor, Thrillist created a map of the biggest and most high-profile liquor or beer companies in each of the 50 states. In their map, the famous brewery Sierra Nevada represents California, classic Southern Comfort makes up Louisiana, and our home in Pennsylvania is dominated by Yuengling – America’s oldest brewery.
