The Roots were a foundation of hip hop growing up in the 90s and are still leading the way into the next century. In the 7th annual Roots Picnic mixtape via Matthew Law you can hear some of the old school Roots’ vibes from jams like “Essaywhuman !!!!!” and “Things Fall Apart” given new life with performances from Black Thought of The Roots crew, Biz Markie, Jay-Z, Action Bronson and even Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre in the “Next Episode.”
I suggest packing up a few sandwiches and a well-amplified boombox and enjoy the picnic!
