37 Photographs of Abandoned Locations in Iceland

The background and surroundings for these abandoned properties couldn’t be anymore beautiful. The Nordic country of Iceland is 40,000 square miles of gorgeous terrain.

This piece covers everything from an abandoned bulldozer to a plane from the US Navy. Several years ago the plane was in route to the military base in Keflavik.. The DC-3 ran out of fuel and safely landed in sands on the south coast of Iceland. The plane still sits there today.

Most of the abandoned trucks, cars, and structures below have untold stories on why they were forgotten. We’ll likely never know why they were left to rust and decay.
