Microsoft has announced it will cut a staggering 18,000 jobs from its workforce over the next year, and reports indicate its Nokia unit will shoulder two-thirds of these layoffs. Apparently new Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was “not a fan” of the recent Nokia acquisition, and is hoping to move Microsoft away from its foray into devices and services.
