How to Explain Your Job to Different People This Holiday Party Season

Do you feel like you’re answering the same questions over and over again each holiday season? The trick to surviving these holiday examinations is to learn how to leverage your answers to make the best of any conversation. And when it comes to holiday parties, the career questions are always on the menu. So whether you’re a marketer, graphic designer, blogger, social media manager, unemployed or all of the above, it’s crucial you learn how to convey your position in the right way to the right audience. See, what you tell your parents and family about your current career status might not fly with your friends or, frankly, be exciting enough to spark the attention of that potential romantic interest. As the party goes on, make sure to save some material for your various performances throughout the shindig. Take someone like me, for example, who at any point during the holiday party could be making computer technology or be “on the cusp of a social storytelling revolution.” I mean, I don’t quite get paid for any of it yet, but it’s great exposure and “honestly I just feel flattered to be a part of it ya’ know?”
