To celebrate its 100-year anniversary, the American Film Institute named the 100 most memorable quotes from American cinema. So data visualist Nathan Yau of Flowing Data also decided it would be fun to visualize each quote in an infographic poster and it’s “The stuff that dreams are made of.” You can find some of the greatest quotes from classic films like Gone With the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Scarface, The Godfather, Wall Street, Star Wars and Casablanca among others.
Yau is a talented infographic designer experienced with using charts and big data, but this project was a bit of a deviation he told Wired:
I made a conscious choice to do as much of this by hand as I could, mostly because I wanted to improve my Illustrator skills. I’m used to writing code to visualize and analyze data, but in this case, the source material and the charts are more abstract and meant to be less specific.
